It looked like a one-hour job. Then the old nuts wouldn't budge, the shutoff valve started weeping the moment it was touched, and the new fixture didn't quite match the old holes.
Swapping a fixture is mostly about what's behind it: old valves, tired supply lines, a flange that has seen better days. We deal with those while we're in there, so the new fixture isn't sitting on old problems.

Toilets
New toilets set on a fresh seal and bolted down so they don't rock. We check the flange underneath first, since a new toilet on a bad flange will leak just like the old one.
